dr Marie Louise Luttik
Marie Louise Luttik is a nurse and researcher with an impressive track record in family care – care provided by family, for family (and other loved ones), centering around people who need long-term and intensive care.
Due to the transition from welfare state to participation society, there is an increasing demand for help and support from immediate family and closest friends in the care for the elderly and people with chronic disorders and/or physical or mental limitations. The effect this can have on relationships within a family unit are considerable, but little attention is paid to these effects.
As a lecturer in Family Care, Marie Louise Luttik has made it her mission to arrive at a more system-oriented approach to care situations – one that pays attention to the health and well-being of the family unit that the patient or client is part of. The Family Care learning assignment, with the help of applied scientific research and in close collaboration with practice institutions, aims to gain insight into the effects of 'caring for' within families, the effects of interventions to support families and conditions for optimal cooperation in the triangle patient, family and healthcare professionals.
The Nursing Diagnostics Professorship
The Nursing Diagnostics Professorship has various learning assignments designed under the supervision of various lecturers. The general overarching teaching assignment of the Nursing Diagnostics Professorship is to contribute to knowledge development and knowledge sharing through the implementation of applied scientific research that relates to diagnostics and nursing.
By cooperating intensively with care institutions, umbrella organisations, professional organisations, university centres and related educational and research institutions, the professorship contributes to the quality of nursing care and to the quality of life of patients and clients in particular, as well as their immediate loved ones who care receive from nurses.
The Nursing Diagnostics Professorship is part of the Centre of Expertise Healthy Ageing and the School of Nursing at Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
