[+] The Big Bang! A workshop on sustainable design and innovation
|
One afternoon, two workshops, one ending. Do you want to experience how technology and user insights come together in sustainable design? This afternoon is about matchmaking. Pezy and Dusc (www.dusc-innovation.nl) jointly present this insightful workshop.
Two starting points, one design. How can user needs and contexts of use be explored in order to reveal user benefits? And how can the application of sustainable technology and materials effectively be applied in products? This is the Big Bang: matching outcomes and building
a foundation for innovative, sustainable design.

The Big Bang is part of a sustainable design day organised by DINSDAG, BNO, O2 Nederland, Tuttobene, CCAA and Aim to sustain. It will take place on June 2 in De Zwijger, Amsterdam, during the Amsterdam Duurzaam Festival 2009 (www.amsterdamduurzaam.nl).

[+] Pezy supports the struggle for clean drinking water
1,2 billion people do not have access to clean drinking water. For years the Dutch IBOTA (The International Bridge of Technical Assistance, www.ibota.org) foundation has been involved in projects aimed at reducing this massive number of people in need. The foundation develops, produces and gives access to mobile water filtration systems for the poorest families
on earth.
In February '09 Pezy started the development of a new design for a mobile hand pump, this in concert with IBOTA. The pump will be manufactured in Calcutta, India, creating many jobs, including training for unemployed. The focus of this redesign will be on cost reduction, ergonomics, safety and manufacturing feasibility. From India these water filtration systems can be sent all over of the world.
Soon Pezy will visit the production facilities in Calcutta to explore the local technical possibilities. By applying its abilities in product design and development Pezy contributes to, as a charity initiative, the campaign for clean water.

[+] Niels van Marle joins Pezy Team
|
The Pezy newsletter is a nice way to introduce new members of the Pezy team to all our relations. In this edition Niels van Marle (see photo) introduces himself: "In January I joined
Pezy to build, together with the team of industrial designers, on the Design competence.
With the team we will expand our customer base and portfolio in this area."
