FEI World Four-in-Hand Championship promotion at the KNHS Annual Awards

|
On 15 January, at the KNHS (Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation) Annual Awards in the auditorium of Rabobank Nederland much attention was called to the World Four-in-Hand Driving Championship 2008. For the item ‘cap on, cap off’ in the evening programme, 400 specially made Championship caps were handed out so that the guests could participate in the game. The brand new promotion film for the Championships had its debut and was received with rapture by all those present.
At the end of the evening, all guests received a nice Driving Championship package consisting of articles from the Driving Championship location The Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt and Championship souvenirs such as pins and stickers. Also everybody received a Driving Championship umbrella which turned out to be just the thing considering the dreadful weather that evening!

World Championship promotion at Jumping Amsterdam

The World Driving Championship 2008 was frequently in the picture at the international equestrian competition Jumping Amsterdam from 24 till 27 January.
At the opening evening during the auction of the Join Jumping Gala, about 200 guests put in bids for, among other things, the luxury arrangement ‘Fun with the Four-in-Hand’ for the WDC. The WDC will take place at the country estate of Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt in Beesd. Chairman Pieter Wiersinga, board member Frans van Verschuer and his wife Nathalie were among the gala guests. They enjoyed all the attention that the WDC was receiving. The cracking World Driving Championship promotion film was not only shown on Wednesday evening but also the following day on the giant screen in the main arena.
At the Rabobank/KNHS stand, Jumping Amsterdam visitors could win tickets for the WDC that will take place from 3 until 7 September.
Four-in-hand drivers Ijsbrand Chardon and Koos de Ronde gave a thunderous show on Saturday afternoon, presented by Rabobank and the KNHS. The show was rapturously received by the audience.
The next following promotional show for the WDC will be at Indoor Brabant in the Brabanthallen in ’s-Hertogenbosch from 27 until 30 March.

Gold KNHS pin for World Driving Championship official Den Hartog

|
At the KNHS (Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation) Annual Awards, Dutch World Driving Championship official Piet den Hartog has been awarded with a gold KNHS pin. The 79 years old Den Hartog has received the highest honour from the KNHS for his services at national and international level. Den Hartog, still a very vigorous man, has filled many board and management functions closely associated with equestrian sports since his veterinary studie. Among other things, he was the veterinary adviser of the KWPN (Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands) and the KNHS for many years. Also he was part of various national and international veterinary committees. As team and competition veterinary, he was involved with the international pair and four-in-hand sport. At the FEI World Championship Four-in-Hand in Beesd Den Hartog is a member of the Appeal Committee, together with Gé König (NED) and Diana Brownlie (GBR).

Camp site Betuwestrand in Beesd, within walking distance of the Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt Country Estate, has created a special arrangement for visitors of the WDC 2008. The arrangement at this 5 star camp site is valid from Monday 1 or Tuesday 2 September until Monday 8 September 2008. You can arrive with your own caravan or tent, their is also a possibility to a hire a caravans or a cabin.
